Jesse James Signs Off in Style: Final Round at Monster Mountain

Our Big Wheel 85cc pilot, Jesse James headed to Monster Mountain in South Wales last Wednesday (13th August) for the third and final round of the 2025 Monster Masters Mid Week Race Series.

With bike issues at the second round, Jesse was coming into the final round to improve on his results as the series comes to a close. Read how the day went for Jesse below.

Heading into the last Round of the Monster Masters I was really excited to get back behind the gates and get some redemption from the last time I was here as my bike seized and ruined my racing.

I went into practice 1 feeling pretty good put in all slow laps checking the track and the best lines to take.

Practice 2 I started just to pick the pace up and check how the track was shaping up for racing.

Qualifying I’ve got a lot better at qualifying lately so I waited until last to give myself the chance of a clear track, unfortunately I didn’t count on catching back markers as soon as I did. I was relatively happy with it though.

Heat 1 – My start was pretty good went for the overtake down hill on the outside and tucked the front end didn’t lose a lot of time but because this is a 4 lap sprint race I didn’t have a lot of time to catch up so finished 9th.

Heat 2 – A better start was pushing round the top 6 the track was quite rough and not many line to pass so tried to take a different line went out in the slippery stuff and went down again finishing in 8th. Finished the meeting in 9th overall.

I enjoyed the racing at Monster Mountain because I really like this track and hope they have another Championship there again soon. I think over the 3 rounds of the Championship I was in 7th overall at the end of it so I’m pleased with my results.

Thanks to everyone who supports and thanks to Darren for coming along to watch us.
