This weekend Jesse James is set to take on the famous Weston Beach Race within the 1 hour and 30 minute 85cc race. This will be the first time Jesse has taken on the event after watching from the side-lines last year due to an injury which gave him the buzz to make sure he was lining up this year.
We caught up with Jesse to discuss how he is feeling ahead of the weekend.
How does it feel racing the Weston Beach Race for the first time?
“I’m feeling really great about riding Weston Beach Race the first time. It’s a right of passage for a motocrosser.”
What prep have you done to prepare yourself for the hour and half race?
“Over the last few months I have been adding some long distance mountain bike rides to prepare for the hour and a half race.”
Has anyone given you any advice for what is known as the UK’s Biggest and Maddest Offroad Event?
“Yes, keep the bike upright pace yourself make sure to keep hydrated. Most of all have fun and enjoy it.”
Do you have a goal for the race?
“As this is my first year doing it my goal is to finish the race, have fun and enjoy it.”
Finally, how do you feel to be competing in the event?
“Competing in this event really means a lot because last year I couldn’t compete due to injury. I was able to watch and it really looks like a lot of fun so I can’t wait to get the bike on the sand.”
