Sunday saw Jesse head to a local race meeting with Rhayader Youth Motocross Club at the popular Cwmythig Hill which recently hosted the annual evening motocross event with Pro riders competing. After three impressive moto’s, Jesse ended the day 7th overall. Here is how the day went for him.
I went to race the local track to me Cwmythig Hill one of the most famous tracks in the UK on the weekend. This track is not for the faint hearted with its huge sweeping burms and huge down hill jumps. I haven’t raced there in a long time but I was really excited to race there.
Race 1 – 9th
I went to the start line and the weather wasn’t great but I was really fazed. We were kept waiting on the line for a long time so eventually when they got us ready to start my bike wouldn’t ignite which threw me a bit so I came out of the gates pretty much last. I kept my cool and started carving my way through the pack and got back up to 9th.
Race 2 – 4th
Lined up for race 2 and the heavens opened. I got quietly excited as everyone knows I absolutely love a wet race, that’s where my Welsh riding skills come into play. I got out with the top end and while everyone was slowing down I was getting faster. (Coach Robb’s encouraging word rang in my head the whole race) I ended up managing to lap most of the other riders bringing home an impressive 4th place.
Race 3 – 9th
Started race 3 really well but I made a silly mistake and dropped the bike on the second last lap costing me a few places but I was deterred even after a goggle malfunction which meant I was riding with my goggles round my arm for the rest of the race which mum wasn’t to pleased about haha. I finished the race in 9th.
I managed to finish 7th overall for the weekend which I was really pleased with. Thank you to everyone who truly supports me week in week out. Thank you to NORA CRS your Kits are definitely getting us noticed! People know we are coming…
