Jesse kicked off his 2025 NORA92 British Cup Championship at Landrake

My race report from the first round of the NORA92 British Cup Championship at Landrake Moto Parc.

Our Big Wheel 85cc pilot Jesse James started his 2025 campaign competing in the NORA92 British Cup at Landrake Moto Parc for the May Bank Holiday weekend. Hear how the weekend went for Jesse below.

I headed to sunny Cornwall for the first round of the NORA92 British Cup this May bank holiday weekend. Wow just wow it was a hard weekend for me this one.

Practice and Qualifying – We all know qualifying and me don’t get along, so free practice went well then we went into qualifying I thought I had actually done a bit better but alas I did not. I ended up with 22nd which wasn’t awful for my gate pick but it really should be better. I promise I will get it soon!

Race 1 – I hit the gates for race 1. Nailed the start but hit the first corner and just dropped back in the pack. Tried to pull back some places but when your riding at this level catching back up is really difficult because these kids are quick and if they catch you napping your done for. Ended the race with 21st.

Race 2 – I had a great start again, was sitting in 16th. I was riding really well until myself and another rider collided which caused me to hit a breaking bump and smack my head on the handle bars. I got to say I panicked a bit ended up coming back in 22nd. Went to see medics after and they said I concussed myself.

Monday

Race 3 – After a very early night with a headache. I hoped I would have a better day but that wasn’t to be I raced my race but just couldn’t break the top 20 which really was a disappointment. Ended the race with a 21st.

Race 4 – I really had lost my mojo for the last race. I really tried hard to jump up the standings instead I found myself in a battle with one rider. We swapped positions through the whole race and by the last lap I knew I had to make my next pass stick so on the 3rd to last corner I passed him. I know it didn’t mean much to my position in the race but it showed I still had the fight in me to keep going and realise no matter where you are you should always be proud you didn’t give up. Ended the race with a 22nd.

My overall thoughts on the weekend I know I have a lot to work on and I can’t thank team coach Joe Clayton for the pre and post race chat obviously I can’t disclose what we talked about but trust me these thing I will be working on and I will be back stronger for Round 2.

I’d also like to say a huge thank you to NORA CRS for there support. It was amazing to have Gemma, Andy, Darren and Joe there this weekend supporting not only myself but the other riders. We are so lucky to be part of the best Motocross Team looking after us young guns!

Next we are off to MX Master Kids 2025 Sand Surfing. Wish me luck riding the waves at Preston Docks.
